Lewis Robins
My golf journey began at Caerleon Golf Club with my grandad during school holidays, sparking a lifelong passion for the sport. I’ve been a keen follower of major golfing events, including volunteering at the 2010 Ryder Cup and attending the 150th Open at St Andrews in 2022. What I love most about golf is the social aspect and the chance to explore new destinations and courses, having played in Portugal and Cyprus. Currently holding an 18 handicap, I am always excited to embrace the challenges and joys that each round brings.
In my career spanning over 13 years with the Celtic Collection, I’ve progressed from a seasonal golf associate to Assistant Golf Manager. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with the European Tour to deliver six Wales Opens and several celebrity cups, as well as leading high-profile corporate events. My dedication was recognised when I was nominated for Golf Spa & Leisure Employee of the Year in 2016 and won the award in 2018. Now in the events team, I bring my extensive expertise to ensure every client enjoys a memorable and exceptional experience. Golf has been a significant part of my life since I was 12, when my grandfather gifted me my first junior club. I was instantly captivated by the sport, finding joy in the fresh air and the challenge of the 18-hole course. Golf quickly became my favourite pastime, offering a unique escape from other hobbies. My passion for the game has been reflected in my playing experience. I honed my skills at the Celtic Manor Resort during summer breaks from university, where I developed a handicap of 1.3 and achieved success in National Welsh Competitions, both at the Resort and across Wales.
In my professional career, I’ve specialised in crafting high-end corporate golf events across various industries, including Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Construction, Financial, and Petroleum. One of my career highlights was successfully securing a major event that included three championship courses, a hotel, and a 500-person gala dinner for a single client. I’m committed to ensuring that each event surpasses expectations, drawing from my rich experiences and understanding of the sport.
